Are you trying to get a job for a long time and the results you are having are not conditioned by the effort you put into it? Don’t worry, there are no secrets or magic potions to get a job but there are many things you should keep in mind. For this reason, here are some recommendations about what you should avoid doing in a job interview. Take note!

If you are looking for a job, register your CV here and apply for the offers we have for you

When the phone rings to schedule an interview, we begin to analyze all the things we should do, how to behave, what to wear, choose what to talk about; but we never think about what NOT to do. Pay attention to these 5 tips:

  1. Not being clear about the proposal

It happens, usually when we have been looking for a job for a long time, that we send applications everywhere without paying attention to what we are applying for. You have to be very careful with this because proposals can get misplaced and when you go to the interview you will not understand where you are going.

We recommend that before going to any job interview you review the job proposal and look for information about the company.

2) Being sleepy during the interview

It is important that you go to the interview very well-rested. That the night before you have a good dinner and a good rest with the necessary hours to recharge your energies the next day.

This question is extremely important because you must be enthusiastic, with a lot of energy, wanting to stay with that position and do your bit to move the company forward.

3) Don’t cheat yourself

Here the famous saying “less is more” applies. You must be very careful with what you want to say because everything you say can trigger a cross-examination in your interviewer that will leave you between a rock and a hard place. Don’t talk negatively about your old bosses or your previous tasks. It is important that you can speak the minimum and necessary.

4) Don’t look into my eyes

Not looking your interviewer in the eye is one of the worst things you can do in a job interview. Making eye contact with the employer will give the feeling that you are interested in what they are talking about, that being there has meaning to you. Also pay attention to body language, express with your body that you want to work, stay upright, with your hands on the table and avoid scratching your face.

5) Don’t overdo it

While you should be enthusiastic, don’t go overboard in the comments you make. It may sound too over-acting and phony so you will surely be left out when selecting new staff. Act with confidence and believe in what you are saying, transmit good energy, and desire to work.
